Day 2 | 68.5 miles to Pickett CCC State Park

Sorry for the margins being set to the middle,   I set them before I left on the computer, but clearly forgot to how to change them on my phone or forgot to save it.  What another great day. Beautiful scenery and the weather wasn't to hot, warm for sure.  There were a lot of hills and 1 mountain today, more climbing today than yesterday in less miles.

I got a much better night sleep last night and was in my tent at 8:00 and got up around 5:20. People start moving around 5:00. You here the zippers of the sleeping bags and tents going and then the lights shining. No big deal as I got plenty of sleep. I was much more organized today than I was the first day. I got there late on Saturday and had to hurry to do all of the stuff so really didn't get settled in and put stuff in my bags where I needed it. But we are all good now. Here are some pictures from today.

For those that are a fan of Triple D here is the grocery store for you.

Another reststop at a church

A view from a bridge going over Dale Hollow Lake.

Another view from the top looking down on Dale Hollow Lake.

Another beautiful view that I contemplated not stopping and taking as it was at the bottom of a hill and I had to go up the other side of the hill and would lose my momentum. But I stopped, it was too pretty not to, plus I got the next picture.

This sign was at the start up the hill. Had to laugh.

Just rolling hills non stop.

A very old General Store.

Sgt. Alvin York Museum.
With the Statue of Liberty in the background.

I had lunch today at this General Store. Burger, fries, and an ice cream cone was $6.50. And it was plenty to eat. Didn't even eat all of my fries so I would have room for my double scoop of moose munch ice cream. Very good.

The House of Prayer, praying that we didn't have any more mountains to climb today.

Clearly I am biking in a very rural part of Tennessee, so I am without cell service again tonight, and I am blogging from my phone. ( this isn't easy ). Thanks for following along.

So I am sitting in my tent listening to the musical act tonight, consisting of 2 guitars and other musical instruments all being played by a local family, 2 brothers and a sister. They are playing oldies, some bluegrass and some of their own music. All pretty good and relaxing.

This is my view from my tent tonight. The picture doesn't do the sky justice. All of the stars, and the moon, amazing.

First time in a long time that I have gone 2 days without cell service or wifi. It's actually nice and relaxing, although I do miss it, like not knowing some football s ores. Someone told me at dinner that the Titans lost, so that's not good.
